Guest post from Peter Shallard, the Shrink for Entrepreneurs. Check out his blog or for mini Jedi-mind-tricks, follow @PeterShallard on Twitter ++++ The idea to write this post started with a twitter conversation Jonathan kicked off with these words of wisdom: Don’t lead with “how’m I gonna make money?” Instead, ask “how’m I gonna blow people away and change lives?” Most of us can agree that this principal is spot on for entrepreneurs with big dreams. When Nathan Hangen added Sometimes internal motivators aren’t aligned with success … I knew he had put his finger on an issue I’ve personally witnessed time and time again.

I first met Tony Hsieh a little over a year ago… Jenn Lim, Tony’s friend and “backup brain” was in NYC and had asked to film an interview with me for a project they were working on. About halfway through filming, Tony walked over and sat down next to Jenn, wearing a t-shirt with a zipper hoodie and jeans. He sat quietly and, after the interview, we talked for a little while about what’s important in business, life and traded ideas on the health and fitness industry.

This week, Howard Karp, the owner of Jersey Defensive Driving ,  reached out to me on Facebook and shared his renegade journey. It captured so much of what people have been dealing with over the last year and it was a great example of what happens when you rise above the victim mentality, take control and go renegade. So, I asked him if  could share it with you guys and he agreed
